Gratitude!

"Aankh teri bekaar hi nam hai Har pal ek naya mausam hai Kyun tu aise pal khota hai? Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai?" Really, why? Why do we let these moments that hold an undiscovered treasure trove of memories waiting to be made, go? Why do we not tell those who keep us alive by falling into our stride, urging us to move faster if their feet are pacing and slow down when they tug you into line with them, that they're indispensable and valuable to us? I don't want to wake up one day and regret that I didn't tell someone how important they are to me because it's too late. It's crucial to give these people the credit they deserve for loving us for and in spite of who we are, without waiting for an occasion to thank them. Isn't life, after all, in all its glory worth celebrating just because you're privileged enough to be alive? So here's a shout out to all my people who keep me going with a push, shove or gentle encouragement. Thank you f...

Aglow

"Do you think we're mirrors?" She regarded him with an observant eye and remarked "You're coloured blue though."  "So?" went the eyebrows quizically.  "I consider myself more..red." He nodded in quiet regard.  "Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked, after a heartbeat.  "The painting you asked me to make?" "You didn't make it, did you?" "Of course not. The inspiration is missing." *A heartbeat and another* "Come." "Where to?" "Close your eyes." "I don't like this incapacitation but I think I need the adventure-" "Shh. Almost there," comes the whispered instruction. "I'm blind, I wouldn't know" she whispers back accusingly, against the palms encompassing sight. She bangs against a stone, yelping in pain and abruptly freed of the hold, having to shield her eyes against the delicate flutter of the...

And Nothing Else Matters

"So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who WE are Life is ours we live it our way All these words I don't just say And nothing else matters" Watch the wings unfurl and curl around your shoulders. Follow the dew glistening in the sunlight as they trace the lines of the pearl feathers, only to pause at the end and let go in free fall. Starved gazes too hungry to watch it fly and come rest on the floor, a destination well-earned. Soaking in the soul's calling, crying out to be caressed and drown in. Hold the eyes simmering with the fierce fire of passion that will shred your placid dreams and set fire to their ignorance, only to burn you awake. Feel your skin light up like a fuse, fingertips their fuel, the pulsating electricity of your laughter exploding in the skies like fireworks of red and gold. Listen to her breathe in surrender and hold close. Nothing else matters. PS- I know how you're feeling Mis...

O soul of naive innocence, I implore you, fly back home. Why do you wander these dark, winding and lonely streets of foreign lands that have turned you into a  restless nomad of the night, defeated and bleeding from the flesh you wear? Come home, with the hundred wounds on your skin and every cloth of righteousness you own, torn beyond repair. For, no mat...

Marigold feels!

In the midst of all the crazed last minute decisions, playlist composition,  arrangements and general hyperactivity combined with anxious desperation to ensure perfection ensues-it's calm. Only because the sanctity of what is to ensue tomorrow is far bigger than music or floral arrangements can compete with. It's a union of two people who're taking the first step towards the intention of spending the rest of their lives in the companionship of one another. And as families will come together to welcome this sacred relationship into their fold of madness laced with dollops of love and warmth, I find my stomach fluttering and my heart beating a little faster as I close my eyes and smile, to the thought of my sister, the person I have literally grown up with, get engaged to the man she loves. I wish you wake up to cherished mornings and remember every moment of what's coming in celebration of the spirit of your bond, of the premise on which this is going to become an e...
